Rostechnadzor Delegation Takes Part in 31st Meeting of OECD Working Party on Chemical Accidents


The delegation of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) took part in the virtual 31st meeting of the Working Party on Chemical Accidents (WPCA) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The WPCA members discussed updated information on the OECD Chemical Accidents Programme and OECD projects “Risk of Accidents Involving Nanomaterials” and “Natech Risk Management.” The meeting noted the annual report on the work of the joint system for reporting and analysis of accidents of the European Union, OECD and the UN Economic Commission for Europe in 2020.

The representatives of the countries participating in the Working Party reported on recent developments related to chemical accidents in their countries. On behalf of Rostechnadzor, Ivan Yasinsky, deputy head of the General Industrial Supervision Department, made a presentation on the topic “Accidents at Supervised Chemical Industry Facilities in 2020.”

In addition, the WPCA members discussed future plans to revise the guiding principles on chemical accidents prevention, preparedness and response.
