Rostechnadzor Takes Part in UNIDO Event

The Rostechnadzor delegation headed by Alexander Rybas, State Secretary and Deputy Chairman, took part in the international event “Fostering Innovation and Connectivity for a Smooth Transformation to Industry 4.0” held on November 5, 2019, in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the 18th Session of UNIDO General Conference.

Mr. Li Yong, UNIDO Director General, opened the event, welcomed the participants, and announced the major topics of the discussion panel, which included cyber security, development and introduction of nature-like technologies, robotics, and artificial intellect. In addition, the panel addressed issues of industrial safety ensuring and regulation as a significant, but often overlooked aspect of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and the associated Sustainable development Goals.

Mr. Rybas made a statement informing the participants about the increased efficiency of Rostechnadzor activities under the conditions of Industry 4.0 and, namely, the introduction of cutting-edge technologies and telemetry in the supervisory activities. Mr. Rybas also spoke about prospective international cooperation in the area of industrial safety under the aegis of UNIDO.

“Rostechnadzor highly values its cooperation with UNIDO,” Mr. Rybas said. “In 2020, we will jointly continue to seek for the opportunities and ways to strengthen our cooperation in the area of industrial safety in a multilateral format, and we will also try to get the greatest possible number of interested stakeholders involved in such discussions.”
