Bilateral meeting between Rostechnadzor and French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) took place in Paris


The Rostechnadzor delegation headed by Deputy Chairman Alexey Ferapontov took part in the bilateral meeting with ASN to exchange information on regulation of nuclear and radiation safety in Russia and France and to approve a joint cooperation program for 2016-2018. The meeting was held on 10 February 2016 in the ASN Headquarters in Paris.

During the meeting Alexey Ferapontov made a presentation “Supervision of NPPs under construction, new licenses and nuclear regulatory framework in Russia”. In his turn, the President of ASN Pierre-Franck Chevet provided an update on nuclear and radiation safety regulation in France.

The parties discussed an implementation of the Russian Federal Target Program for Assurance of Nuclear and Radiation Safety in 2016-2020 and until 2030 as well as the 3rd French national plan for radon risk management.

In course of the meeting Rostechnadzor and ASN agreed upon the joint cooperation program for 2016-2018, including conduct of joint inspections at NPPs in operation and joint inspections of transportation of radioactive materials. Results of the ASN inspection that took place in the Laue-Langevin Institute in Grenoble on 9 February 2016 with participation of Rostechnadzor specialists as observers were also presented and discussed.

After the meeting Rostechnadzor delegation attended the ASN Crisis center.
