The meeting of the working group on nuclear and radiation safety regulation evaluated interim results of the cooperation between Rostechnadzor and Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The meeting noted the need for further enhancement of cooperation between the regulatory bodies of Russia and Vietnam, and set up plans of cooperation for 2015. The Russian delegation with the participation of representatives of Rostechnadzor and the State Corporation Rosatom was headed by Alexey Ferapontov, and the Vietnamese delegation was headed by Deputy Director General of VARANS Le Quang Hiep.

On February 3, a plenary session of the JCC was held which resulted in signing the protocol setting the key areas of Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in the field of the use of atomic energy and events scheduled in 2015.

The next JCC meeting will take place in Russia.
