The Delegation of Rostechnadzor taking part in 58th IAEA General Conference


The Delegation of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostechnadzor) is taking part in 58th IAEA General Conference, which opened on September 22, 2014, in Vienna, Austria. The Chairman of Rostechnadzor, Alexey Aleshin is expected to conduct a number of meetings, including meetings with the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, the IAEA Deputy Director General Denis Flory, the Head of Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Olga Lugovskaya, the President of Nuclear Safety Authority of France, Chevet Pierre-Franck, and other important meetings.

Representatives of 159 countries are participating in 58th IAEA General Conference. The agenda includes a wide range of issues concerning nuclear safety ensuring and strengthening of the nonproliferation regime, improvement of the IAEA safeguards mechanism, enhancement of protection of nuclear power facilities and radioactive materials. Traditionally, during the discussions, greater attention will be drawn to the issues of development of scientific and technical cooperation and improvement of nuclear technologies.
